Surrey CC’s longer-term financial resilience is a ‘serious challenge’ despite the authority achieving a record £79m savings in 2017/18, senior councillors have been warned.
A report to a cabinet meeting next week said that during 2017/18 the council had to plan to deliver ‘already stretching service reduction targets’ of £104m.
