Preston chief bids to prevent lockdown

Preston City Council’s chief executive has urged residents to take extra safety precautions in a bid to avoid a formal lockdown of the area.

The city is effectively surrounded by areas that have had lockdowns imposed by central government and Preston itself has also reported a ’spike’ in COVID-19 cases.
