Procurement leaders: from steward to taskmaster

The role of the modern chief procurement officer (CPO) is one of the most dynamic and exciting jobs within the public sector at present.

Thanks to emerging technologies such as AI and data analytics, procurement leaders are no longer the stewards of process and transaction, but now have access to a plethora of information on spend, suppliers and practices - allowing them to analyse, adapt and act on business-critical issues. As more tools surface such as robotics and blockchain, the sector and all of its functions are set to become more equipped than ever to develop agile and responsive operations fit for purpose.
