The Government’s response to the Josh McAlister independent review of children’s social care recognises the significant impact early help services have in supporting families before they reach crisis.

This preventative approach is not new in Hertfordshire. We have been working in this way for the last 10 years. Our Families First approach ensures families have the right support, from professionals working in a range of disciplines, before problems escalate. This multi-disciplinary approach is also fundamental in our Family Safeguarding programme.
