A question of scale

As we await the Government’s response to the call for evidence on the future of the Local Government Pensions Scheme, we can be sure that change is coming.

The chancellor’s recent budget announcement, which at one stroke liberalised the defined contributions market by removing the requirement to buy an annuity in most instances, showed that the Government is not shy of making significant change.

This gives us hope as we prepare for an announcement which could have a similar scale of impact on how local government pension funds are managed.
