An influential MP has urged councillors and officers to contact his select committee about any concerns they have over local government’s overview and scrutiny regime.
Clive Betts MP, the Labour chair of the Communities and Local Government Committee, said he wanted strong feedback from senior personnel to inform its inquiry into the overview and scrutiny arrangements for local government introduced in 2000.
