Investing now in children's social care to cut costs down the line

The national shortage of social workers would be a challenge for councils even in the very best of times.

But in the face of the cost of living crisis, the legacy of the Covid pandemic and the ongoing impact of more than a decade of Government austerity, local authorities are facing nothing short of a catastrophe when it comes to caring for our children and young people.
