It is time to embrace retrofitting

Culturally, as an industry and as humans we still prefer ‘new’ over ‘renewed’.

This is fundamentally hurting the ecosystems of our planet.  We are getting better at it with the rise in popularity of pre-loved clothes and repurposing furniture, and we’ve long cherished our heritage properties. But this is a choice that is often weighted towards those who have the time, money and inclination. The mass marketing of cheap new goods available at the click of a button targets those who have less time and/or money.
