Lib Dems fail to scrap housing target

An attempt by the Lib Dem leadership to end the party’s support for national housing targets has been defeated by delegates at their conference.

The frontbench move to scrap the commitment to building 380,000 homes nationally every year – a move likely to have proved popular with voters in Blue Wall seats in South East England – was overturned by party members at the annual gathering in Bournemouth.
