MPs bemoan ‘missed opportunity’ to simplify elections

Elections laws are in ‘urgent need of rationalisation and simplification’, a select committee of MPs has concluded.

The timeframe for introducing reforms such as voter ID requirements is also becoming increasingly tight, according to the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee’s (PACAC) new report.
