Pressure grows to raise housing benefits

Calls are growing to increase housing benefits to prevent a surge in homelessness.

London Councils is the latest to urge the Government to restore Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates to 30% of local market rents, warning 125,000 low-income households in the capital are at risk of homelessness.
