Watchdog warning over food standards resourcing

A watchdog has warned of ‘inadequate resourcing’ of environmental health and trading standards services by councils.

The Food Standards Agency has written to chief executives warning of the impact of staff shortages and ‘inadequate resourcing by many local authorities of food and feed services’.
