South Tyneside must tackle councillor behaviour, says peer team

South Tyneside MBC has improved but there is a long way to go on governance and councillor behaviour, a peer review has found.

The council was beset by issues, leading to former leader Iain Malcolm stepping down amid a bullying probe in 2020 just weeks after the departure of former chief executive Martin Swales.
