Where leadership drives productivity

As a District Council with relatively low levels of deprivation we have been hit hard by reductions in our funding. And in an area which is 92% Green Belt our opportunities to grow our business rates base or significantly increase our housing numbers is severely restricted.

We know we’re not alone in these circumstances and alongside many others we’ve used the challenge presented by Investors in People (IIP) to focus on developing our staff, to help us increase productivity and deliver savings without adversely affecting the quality of service received by our 117,000 residents and 6,000 businesses.

Now in its second year the Investors in People Awards has recognised some of that effort and we are immensely proud to have been shortlisted for ‘Excellence in Leadership and Management’.
