HR, but not as we know it

The never-ending debate about the future of HR experienced another curve ball this year with the announcement from Airbnb that it was redefining the role of HR by creating a ‘global head of employee experience’.

Their philosophy is that the workplace has to be an experience for employees in the same way that customers experience their service. This isn’t in itself a new concept, but the clear redefinition of the whole service based on the principles of employee experience is certainly innovative.
