Sector defends council chiefs after MPs' criticism

Senior local government figures this week defended the chief executives of Solihull MBC and Bradford City Council after MPs criticised their responses to child deaths.

Last week Education Committee chairman Robert Halfon wrote to education secretary Kit Malthouse raising ‘serious concerns’ over Solihull’s Nick Page and Bradford’s Kersten England.
